1. Offline-First & No PII Collection
Renal Companion operates on a strict Offline-First
architecture. This means your data primarily resides on your local device.
We NEVER collect, store, or
transmit Personal Identifiable Information (PII) such as your name, phone number, email address, or
precise location. Your identity remains completely anonymous to our servers.
2. Collection of Anonymized Medical Data
To improve clinical outcomes and support nephrology research, we
collect strictly anonymized medical usage data. By using this application, you
consent to the collection of:
- Nutritional Logs: Types of food consumed,
quantities, and nutrient breakdown (Potassium, Phosphorus, Sodium).
- Lab Results: Values for eGFR, Creatinine,
Albumin, and electrolytes to calibrate clinical algorithms.
- App Usage Patterns: Feature interaction metrics
to improve user experience.
Research Consent:
By using Renal Companion, you explicitly grant the
development team permission to use this anonymized, aggregated data for scientific research,
academic publications, and statistical analysis aimed at improving CKD patient care.
3. AI & Third-Party Processing
To provide advanced features like the "Murshid" Smart Assistant and
Vision Scanner, specific data snippets are processed by third-party providers:
- Google Gemini AI: When you use the chat assistant
or label scanner, anonymized text queries and image data are sent to Google's generative AI
servers for processing.
We do not share your full medical history with these providers.
Only the immediate context required to answer your question or scan a product is transmitted
ephemerally.
4. Medical Disclaimer & Liability
Renal Companion is a support tool, not a medical device. While we
adhere to KDOQI guidelines:
- No Doctor-Patient Relationship: Using this app
does not create a medical relationship.
- Accuracy: While we strive for accuracy, food
databases and lab interpretations can vary. Always verify critical decisions with your
healthcare provider.
